Adenosine

A nucleoside made of adenine and ribose, present in every cell as a building block of ATP and RNA and as a messenger that regulates the heart, blood vessels and sleep; as an intravenous drug it stops paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and is used in cardiac stress tests. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, labelled standards and other impurities.

Did you know?Caffeine keeps us awake because it blocks adenosine receptors: adenosine builds up in the brain while we are awake and increases sleepiness.
