Alphadolone
A neuroactive steroid with general anaesthetic action (alfadolone): as alfadolone acetate it was one of the two components, together with alfaxalone, of an intravenous anaesthetic mixture introduced in the early 1970s. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?It was present in a 1 to 3 ratio with alfaxalone and helped make the mixture more soluble; the same combination was later used in veterinary anaesthesia too, for example in cats.
