Carbachol
A cholinergic agonist that mimics acetylcholine, developed in Germany in 1932: it is used in ophthalmology, as eye drops for glaucoma and to constrict the pupil during cataract surgery. This family brings together the active ingredient.
Did you know?Unlike acetylcholine it is not easily broken down by cholinesterases, so it acts for hours; its name joins carbamic acid and choline.
