Cefalexin

A first-generation cephalosporin taken by mouth: it blocks the construction of the bacterial cell wall. Developed in the 1960s and first marketed in 1969, it is used for infections of the skin, urinary tract, ear, throat and bones. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, labelled standards and other impurities.

Did you know?It is not only a medicine for people: in the United States the FDA has also approved it for dogs, and in veterinary medicine it is used, for example, for canine pyoderma.
