Docarpamine
An orally active dopamine prodrug, already described in the scientific literature by 1980, approved in Japan in 1994 and used for acute and chronic heart failure: the body converts it into dopamine, which acts on peripheral receptors. This family brings together the active ingredient, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?Docarpamine 'disguises' dopamine with chemical groups that protect it from being broken down on its first pass through the body: enzymes in the gut, liver and kidney then remove them and release the dopamine.
