Doramectin
A veterinary antiparasitic of the avermectin family, obtained in the early 1990s from a strain of Streptomyces avermitilis; it is used in animals for broad-spectrum parasite control. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?It comes from mutational biosynthesis: a mutant strain of the bacterium is fed cyclohexanecarboxylic acid instead of its natural starter unit, and the bacterium builds a new avermectin.
