Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an EDQM standard and a secondary standard?
The EDQM standard is the official primary standard of the European Pharmacopoeia, the one named in the monograph. A secondary standard, like ours with certificate of analysis, is fully characterised and can be qualified against the primary: it suits routine use and costs less.
Does the EDQM standard come with a certificate of analysis?
No: EDQM standards have no certificate of analysis like commercial standards. They come with a leaflet stating the intended use and, where needed, the assigned content; batch validity is checked on the EDQM website.
