Ergostine
A peptide ergot alkaloid, produced by the fungus Claviceps purpurea. It belongs to the ergotamine group, from which it differs by a single detail: an ethyl group instead of a methyl in the peptide part. This family brings together nitrosamines.
Did you know?Because of this similarity the European Pharmacopoeia lists it as impurity C of ergotamine tartrate.
