Ethylmorphine
A semi-synthetic opioid derived from morphine, used as an analgesic and above all as a cough suppressant; it has been sold in several European countries, including France, Norway and Spain. This family brings together the active ingredient and pharmacopoeial impurities.
Did you know?It is a close relative of codeine: in both, morphine carries a small extra group, methyl in codeine and ethyl here, and like codeine it is partly converted into morphine in the liver.
