Etomidate
An intravenous hypnotic used to induce general anaesthesia, developed in 1964 and introduced in Europe in 1972: it is valued because it causes only a small drop in blood pressure. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.
