Fipronil
An insecticide of the phenylpyrazole family, developed in France between 1985 and 1987 and on the market since 1993: it blocks GABA-gated chloride channels in the nerves of invertebrates. It is used for seed treatment and in spray and spot-on products against fleas and ticks on dogs and cats. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.
