Formoterol
A long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) bronchodilator patented in 1972: it relaxes the airway muscles for up to 12 hours and is used for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, metabolites, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?Despite its long action, it starts working within 2-3 minutes: this is why, combined with an inhaled corticosteroid, it is used both as maintenance therapy and as an as-needed reliever.
