Hydroxocobalamin
A natural form of vitamin B12 (vitamin B12a), isolated in 1949: it is used for B12 deficiency, such as pernicious anaemia, and since 2006 in the United States as an antidote for cyanide poisoning, for example from smoke inhalation. This family brings together the active ingredient.
Did you know?It captures cyanide by turning into cyanocobalamin, which is removed by the kidneys; because of its deep red colour it can temporarily tint the skin and urine reddish.
