Hypericin

A red, light-sensitive pigment found in plants of the genus Hypericum, especially St John's wort (Hypericum perforatum); it is also being studied for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.

Did you know?St John's wort owes its English name to being harvested around 24 June, the feast of St John: its flowers yield a red-coloured oil.
