Imidapril
An ACE inhibitor for high blood pressure and chronic heart failure, patented in 1982 and approved in 1993; it is a prodrug that the body converts into its active form, imidaprilat. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know? Its active form, imidaprilat, stays in circulation far longer than the parent drug: its half-life exceeds 24 hours, against about 2 hours for imidapril.
