Lufenuron
A benzoylurea insecticide introduced around 1990: it blocks the synthesis of chitin, the material of the insect exoskeleton, and is used in agriculture and in veterinary medicine against fleas on cats and dogs. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?It does not kill adult fleas: it builds up in the animal's fat, passes to the fleas through the blood and from them to their eggs, so the larvae that hatch cannot form an exoskeleton.
