Maropitant
A veterinary antiemetic that blocks the NK1 receptor for substance P, approved in the United States in 2007 to prevent and treat vomiting in dogs, motion sickness included, and later also in cats. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?By blocking substance P it acts on the vomiting centre in the brain, so it works against both central and peripheral triggers; it also does not make the animal drowsy.
