Meloxicam
A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the oxicam family, patented in 1977, in use in Europe since the early 1990s and in the United States since 2000: it is used for osteoarthritis and rheumatic diseases and is also widely used in veterinary medicine, for dogs and cats. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know?In 2006 a study showed that it has low toxicity for Gyps vultures: this is why in South Asia it was proposed in place of diclofenac for treating livestock, protecting these birds.
