Methyltestosterone

A synthetic androgen derived from testosterone, synthesised in 1935, shortly after the discovery of the hormone, and in medical use since 1936 for male hypogonadism, delayed puberty and, in women, some advanced breast cancers. This family brings together the active ingredient.

Did you know?It differs from testosterone by a single methyl group at position 17-alpha, which makes it more stable in the body and effective by mouth: it was the first 17-alpha-alkylated androgen ever synthesised.
