Oleandomycin

A macrolide antibiotic produced by strains of Streptomyces antibioticus, discovered in 1954 by Sobin, English and Celmer: related to erythromycin but less potent, it is approved as a veterinary antibiotic in some countries. This family brings together the active ingredient.

Did you know?It even has a food additive code, E704, while its chemical structure was only worked out in 1960, six years after its discovery.
