Perhexiline
An antianginal drug developed in the 1970s to prevent angina attacks; it was later reintroduced for patients who do not respond to, or cannot use, other treatments. This family brings together the active ingredient, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?It acts on the heart's 'fuel': by blocking the enzyme CPT-1 it makes heart muscle burn glucose instead of fatty acids, getting more energy (ATP) for each molecule of oxygen.
