Permethrin
A synthetic pyrethroid insecticide created in the early 1970s: in medicine it is used against scabies and lice, and it is also used to treat mosquito nets and clothing to keep insects away. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know?It was the first pyrethroid stable in sunlight: it was developed by Michael Elliott's team at Rothamsted, in England, starting from the pyrethrins of pyrethrum flowers (Tanacetum cinerariifolium).
