Phoxim
An organophosphate insecticide and acaricide that blocks the parasites' cholinesterase; in veterinary medicine it is used in washes, sprays, dips and pour-ons against mites, lice and other ectoparasites of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know? Its oxygen analogue, PO-phoxim, is 100 to 1000 times more potent as an insecticide: it forms in flies but has not been found in mammals, which are less sensitive to the compound.
