Pipecolic Acid

A cyclic amino acid not encoded by DNA (piperidine-2-carboxylic acid) that is formed from lysine; it builds up in pipecolic acidaemia and can be raised in some epilepsies, such as pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy. This family brings together the active ingredient, nitrosamines and other impurities.

Did you know?It has even been identified in the Murchison meteorite, famous for its organic molecules, and it occurs in the leaves of the South American trees of the genus Myroxylon.
