Procyclidine
An antimuscarinic anticholinergic patented in the late 1950s, used against drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms, against dystonia and, as a second choice, against Parkinson's tremor. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?It is a close chemical relative of trihexyphenidyl: it is made by a parallel synthesis in which one of the two aromatic rings is reduced by hydrogenation and becomes a cyclohexyl ring.
