Propentofylline
A xanthine derivative, of the same family as caffeine, that inhibits phosphodiesterases and improves blood flow to the brain and limbs: in veterinary medicine it is used against dullness and lethargy in older dogs. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?In the 1990s it was studied in humans as a possible treatment for Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia, but it found its place mainly as a medicine for senior dogs.
