Propiomazine
A sedating antihistamine of the phenothiazine family, related to promethazine, in use since the early 1960s for insomnia and to ease anxiety before and during surgery. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know?Although it is a phenothiazine, like many antipsychotics, it is not used as a neuroleptic: it blocks dopamine receptors only weakly and acts mainly on histamine H1 receptors.
