Ripasudil
A Rho-kinase (ROCK) inhibitor eye drop, approved in Japan in 2014 for glaucoma and ocular hypertension: it lowers eye pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour through the trabecular meshwork. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?It was born from a small change to fasudil, another Rho-kinase inhibitor: adding one fluorine atom and one methyl group made it much more potent and selective.
