Solanidine
A steroidal alkaloid found in plants of the nightshade family, such as the potato: it is the sugar-free part of the glycoalkaloids alpha-solanine and alpha-chaconine, and has been studied as a raw material for making steroid hormones. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?People who eat potatoes carry traces of it in their blood, so it has been proposed as a natural marker of the activity of CYP2D6, a liver enzyme that processes many medicines.
