Ternidazole
An antiprotozoal of the 5-nitroimidazole family, active against protozoa such as Trichomonas vaginalis and Giardia lamblia and against anaerobic bacteria; it is found in vaginal tablets, combined with neomycin, nystatin and prednisolone. This family brings together the active ingredient.
Did you know?It is a close cousin of metronidazole: both share the same 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole core, but in ternidazole the chain carrying the hydroxyl group is one carbon atom longer.
