Ticarcillin

A semi-synthetic penicillin of the carboxypenicillin group, patented in 1963 and given by injection against Gram-negative bacteria, often combined with clavulanic acid. This family brings together the active ingredient, pharmacopoeial impurities and other impurities.

Did you know?In the laboratory it replaces ampicillin for selecting modified bacteria, because it prevents 'satellite' colonies, and in plants it is used to get rid of the Agrobacterium used to transfer genes.
