Trientine

A chelating agent that binds copper and helps the body excrete it in the urine: studied from the late 1960s into the 1970s by English physician John Walshe as an alternative to penicillamine, it is used in Wilson's disease. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.

Did you know?Chemically it is triethylenetetramine, a molecule also used in industry as a hardener for epoxy resins, the kind found in two-part glues and coatings.
