Uric Acid
The end product of purine breakdown in humans: it is eliminated mainly in the urine and is one of the main antioxidants in blood, but in excess it can crystallise and cause gout. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know?It was first isolated in 1776 by the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele from kidney stones; Dalmatian dogs, because of a genetic defect, excrete it as humans do instead of converting it into allantoin.
