Ultrapure water intended for PCR and other molecular biology applications. Because water makes up the largest part of a reaction and PCR is sensitive enough to amplify traces of contaminating DNA, every lot is tested for absence of endonuclease, nicking and exonuclease activity, and absence of human DNA is confirmed by PCR. The 5 mL aliquot format limits repeated opening and the risk of contamination.
