Fructose
Fruit sugar: a monosaccharide found in honey, fruit, flowers and many root vegetables, discovered in 1847 by the French chemist Augustin-Pierre Dubrunfaut. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.
Did you know?It is the sweetest of all natural sugars, up to about 1.8 times sweeter than sucrose; it is also called laevulose, from the Latin laevus (left), because it rotates polarised light to the left.
