Netupitant

An NK1 receptor antagonist that blocks substance P, used in a fixed combination with palonosetron to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting; the combination was approved in the United States in 2014 and in Europe in 2015. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards and other impurities.

Did you know?It is long-acting, with a half-life of about 88 hours: it protects both in the first 24 hours after chemotherapy and in the delayed phase, up to five days later, while palonosetron mainly covers the acute phase.
