Protirelin

It is the pharmaceutical form of TRH, the hypothalamic hormone that triggers the release of thyrotropin: a small three-amino-acid peptide whose structure was determined in 1969, used in the diagnostic TRH test. This family brings together the active ingredient and pharmacopoeial impurities.

Did you know?To find it, the rival teams of Roger Guillemin and Andrew Schally processed a huge number of sheep and pig brains; both claimed priority and in 1977 they shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
