Protriptyline
A tricyclic antidepressant with a dibenzocycloheptene structure, patented in 1962 and introduced in 1966 for depression, including when it comes with anxiety. This family brings together the active ingredient, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.
Did you know?Unlike most tricyclics it does not cause drowsiness but tends to be energising: it is the least sedating of its class and has also been used in narcolepsy to promote wakefulness.
