Sunitinib

A multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (VEGFR, PDGFR, KIT) that slows tumour growth and the formation of the blood vessels feeding it. Approved in 2006, it is used in advanced kidney cancer and gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST). This family brings together the active ingredient, metabolites, labelled standards, nitrosamines and other impurities.

Did you know?It was the first cancer drug approved by the FDA for two different tumours at the same time. It was designed to mimic ATP: it occupies the site where kinases bind this energy molecule.
