Thiotepa
An alkylating agent and one of the oldest chemotherapy drugs, approved in the United States in 1959: it is also used in conditioning regimens that prepare patients for blood stem cell transplantation. This family brings together the active ingredient and other impurities.
Did you know? Its name is short for thiotriethylenephosphoramide: the molecule carries three aziridine rings, small and highly reactive triangles that bind to the DNA of cancer cells and stop it from being copied.
