Kit for purifying DNA from PCR and enzymatic reactions and from standard or low-melting agarose gels, using silica membrane spin columns and no phenol-chloroform extraction. The protocol removes primers, primer dimers, dNTPs, unincorporated labelled nucleotides, enzymes and salts, and recovers both double- and single-stranded DNA. Recovery is about 95% for fragments from 100 bp to 3 kb.
