A passive reference dye based on 6-carboxy-X-rhodamine (ROX) at 200 µM, for real-time PCR. Its signal stays constant throughout the run and gives a baseline for normalising reporter fluorescence, correcting well-to-well differences that are not caused by PCR, such as light intensity variation in the optics or pipetting errors. It is added to the mix at the final concentration the instrument requires: 30 nM for low-ROX instruments and 300 nM for high-ROX instruments.
