A 10x ammonium sulfate based PCR reaction buffer, in this version containing 15 mM MgCl2. The ammonium ions make the reaction tolerant to magnesium concentration and annealing temperature, so most primer-template systems need little optimisation. It delivers high yield and good specificity over a broad range of annealing temperatures, including on difficult templates such as GC-rich DNA.
