A recombinant polymerase from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Pyrococcus woesei, expressed in E. coli, with 5'-3' polymerase and 3'-5' proofreading exonuclease activity. Accuracy is about ten times higher than Taq, and PCR products are blunt-ended, ready for blunt-end cloning and expression work. It is supplied at 2.5 U/µL together with a 10x reaction buffer containing MgSO4.

The 3'-5' exonuclease activity corrects misincorporations, giving about ten times the accuracy of Taq.
Blunt ends
No 3' A addition and no 5'-3' exonuclease activity: products are ready for blunt-end cloning.
High thermostability
Half-life at high temperature is much longer than that of Taq.
Accepts modified nucleotides
Incorporates dNTPs, ddNTPs and fluorescent dNTPs or ddNTPs.
